Semla with Salmiakkola sauce

We mixed our own almond paste, consisting in equal parts of soaked almonds and caster sugar. Then we stirred Salmiakkola sauce into the almond paste. In order to highlight the liquorice taste we added some extra liquorice powder.

You can decide whether to ripple the cream with caramel sauce or garnish it as we have done in the picture. The combination of the sweet-salty sauce and the fluffy cream really makes the taste buds tingle!

Finish by dusting the dessert with liquorice powder and icing sugar. Liquorice powder on its own is a little too bitter.
